Created in 2007 in partnership with Embassy of France, European Union, Washington Performing Arts, and many local organizations. Still flourishing in Washington, DC.
Created in 1993 at Johns Hopkins University School of Continuing Studies to serve a new market and provide training in the growing field of healthcare. Still offered at JHU.
Created in 2014 to serve a new market for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and to provide much needed professional development training for music educators. Partnership with University of Maryland Baltimore County, Md. State Superintendent of Education.
Created in 2012 to serve a new market and attract new audiences to the BSO. First time in the organization’s 100-year history, BSYO now boasts three orchestras for over 250 young musicians.
Created the first ever complete Nutcracker based on Duke Ellington’s short version in partnership with Step Afrika dance company. Raised the funds to commission the score and the choreography.
Created special programs to commemorate the Theory of Relativity. One such program featured Professor Stephen Hawking of Cambridge University at the Smithsonian to receive the Bicentennial Medal. Partnered with the British Council, NASA, George Washington University and the Hay Adams Hotel. Fully funded and fully attended.
Created a completely unique product line to connect new audiences to the myriad opportunities at the Smithsonian Institution. Comprised of Creativity Institutes, Worlds Affairs Institutes, and Signature institutes, the Smithsonian Institutes for Professionals provided an opportunity for organizations to “discover new exciting ways to inspire imagination and creative teamwork, enhance their understanding of regions of the world important to corporate interests, and to engage their staff and clients in developing a stronger learning organization.”
Created to provide access to the riches of the Smithsonian and to fulfill the Institution’s mission of “disseminating knowledge.” Smithsonian Weeks took place in cities all across the US, often in partnership with Smithsonian Magazine and the many museums comprising SI. Smithsonian experts also participated in Smithsonian Scholars in the Schools all across America. Important programming for funding opportunities.
Created to provide opportunities for Americans to learn about other cultures and to bring in new dollars through partnerships with countries. Partnered with France, Italy, Austria, Japan, England, Wales, Scotland, Russia Norway, and other countries.
